The Building Blocks of Matter: Atoms are the fundamental units of all matter in the universe. They are incredibly small - smaller than anything we can imagine or compare with in our everyday experience.
Atomic Radius: The size of atoms is measured in nanometres (nm). One nanometre is 1/10โน meters - that's one billionth of a meter!
Atomic Mass: Each element has a characteristic atomic mass, measured in atomic mass units (u), where 1 u equals 1/12 the mass of a carbon-12 atom.
